SIR PETER IN FLORENCE – “Spiffy” is a striking, elegant colt with loads of presence. He carries on the exceptional temperament of his sire, Sir Gregory. He demonstrates terrific balance in both canter and lead changes (which he does all the time!) He is naturally uphill, rhythmic, and athletic. He is halter broke and has been handled daily since birth. He is independent and brave, which will serve him well in his career. He’s named after a high-quality spirit and we feel that he embodies the choices that go into an excellent recipe. Spiffy is the result of a careful pairing and is the first foal of a partnership created to produce top horses for sport.
Sire: SIR GREGORY A brilliant son of champion stallion Sir Donnerhall, and out of a very strong dam line. As a 3-year-old Sir Gregory was the convincing winner of his 30 -day test at Neustadt/Dosse, with very high scores in every category. Interior 9.25, Walk 8.50, Trot 9.38, Canter 8.75, Rideability 9.38. This gave him the high overall score of 8.85, the highest score in the dressage phase of 9.08. Sir Gregory’s dam Premiere is also the dam of two State Premium mares, a 2004 approved stallion Don Romio, following Sir Gregory, Premiere has gone on to produce a 2008 licensed stallion sired by Sandro Hit who was also the second highest-selling dressage stallion at the stallion auction following the licensing in Oldenburg (second only to the dressage licensing champion). Premiere’s sire is the successful Grand Prix dressage stallion Don Gregory. Don Gregory was not only a successful dressage competitor but is also a highly sought-after sire, he has sired numerous licensed sons, champion stallions, State Premium, Brilliant ring and Champion mares, top auction horses, Bundeschamp and World Champions.
Dam: LALIQUE is a beautiful, premium Hannoverian mare by LONDONDERRY out of a WARKANSON mare. Her first premium scores on inspection were 8’s for her head, neck, saddle position, hind legs, and breed and sex type. She was started in her riding career but was injured and could no longer continue. She is the modern type that most breeders prefer.
Her kind demeanor makes her a pleasure to be around. Londonderry has produced countless dressage horses and this proven blood is highly sought after. He was definitely a stallion of excellent type and expression, with a great talent for dressage. He received 134.56 for dressage in his stallion test.
