Sire: BEAU SOLEIL was a foal futurity winner, co-champion in his stallion licensing, and the top three-year-old stallion in his Stallion Performance Test. He garnered high marks for his temperament and his basic gaits. He is closely related (same sire and a line to Abrupt) to BUENOS AIRES, an Olympic eventer that represented Canada at the 2008 Games. Beau Soleil is a very elegant product of three top Hanoverian bloodlines: GOTTHARD, GRANDE and ABGLANZ. He has proven to be a pre-potent sire, stamping offspring with his expressive head and refined elegance. Beau Soleil produced horses of beauty and style for the hunter ring, with excellent gaits and uphill carriage for the dressage ring, and scope and bravery for the jumper ring. These qualities are combined with a high degree of rideability for which he is well-known. With many high-selling auction horses to his credit, such as BORN FREE, BRANDY TIME and BLIND DATE, he has established himself as a top sire of versatile horses that can perform in any discipline.
Dam: RUM CAKE is by ROBIN Z (RAMIRO/ALMÉ/GOTTHARD) who represented one of the most consistent crosses for the Zangersheide Stud. He not only was a winner in Grand Prix dressage, he was on the Swedish team as a show jumper. As a tribute to his importance to the Swedish Warmblood, Robin Z was named one of a select number of Elite stallions. Rum Cake’s dam was by the CWHBA foundation sire, ABRUPT out of a Thoroughbred mare. Incidentally, three of ROBIN Z’s five best offspring were out of high percentage Thoroughbred mares. H&M BUTTERFLY FLIP is but one example.
Notes: MONTEGO BAY has been to several shows, jumping at 0.90m and schooling 1.0m. He has been ridden indoors as well as outdoors (on dirt, artificial footing, and grass), and is always brave yet easy to fences. He has the ability and the disposition to be a constant performer in the jumper ring. Like so many of his close relatives, he is designed to provide years of enjoyment to amateur riders.
