Sire:  ARKANSAS is the top producer of registered CWHBA offspring and the leading money earning foal futurity sire.  He consistently produced top jumpers, including AZAR, and ALIBI (Toronto Royal Winter Fair winners), performance champions in dressage and over fences, including ABRAXIS, ALL THE MARBLES, PICASO, and ALAHAMBRE, and champion conformation mares, including ALLELUAH, ALESIA and ANJOO.  ARKANSAS, imported from Germany for breeding purposes in Canada, was a member of the Hanoverian State Stud "Prussian" Quadrille.  His European offspring have earned nearly $200,000 DM!  ARKANSAS was sire to the famous ESCUDO I and EDGAR.  ARKANSAS is noted for his elegant topline and excellent rideability.  Sadly, ARKANSAS is no longer available to us as a breeding stallion, but his legend lives on in his sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters.

Dam:  ASTRA was a well-boned mare, sound, with an excellent mind.  She served both as a broodmare and riding horse.  She was a real "Packer", who consistently took her riders to 4 foot.  She had a huge heart: in one year she packed her rider in a full lesson schedule while pulling double duty as a Mom, with her own and an orphan foal at side.  Her offspring are known for huge jumping scope, consistency and heart.

Notes:  ASTAR is a very attractive, dapple-grey gelding with good bone and substance, correct conformation and gaits.  Ideally suited for the amateur or junior rider with competitive ambitions.  ASTAR is flashy under saddle, yet reliable and uncomplicated to ride.  He is scopey over fences, schooled to 4 foot at home, showing promise for more.  ASTAR has a solid dressage foundation, and is ready for a rider to build on new movements.  Awesome temperament on this horse! - Very much in tune with his rider/partner, but not overly sensitive to ride.  Loads, clips, ties, baths and hauls, good for the farrier and vet, ridden indoors and out, on trails, around farm animals without fuss.  Clean x-rays on file.
