Notes: | MOCHACCINO has a very good temperament with a show-off attitude and athletic abilities that will carry her through either a career as a riding horse or as a broodmare. She was started as a 2 year old, and had 45 days riding during the summer of 2001. MOCHACCINO was bred to RIO GRANDE on May 18 with frozen semen and has been confirmed in foal. RIO GRANDE was the winner of the stallion performance test at November Hill Farm in 1991, scoring an excellent 135 points, with high scores for jumping and rideability. RIO started showing in dressage and was Basic Champion at the prestigious Tournament of Champions as a 4 year old. From 1994 to 1997 he was shown very successfully in the Grand Prix Jumper ring by CET member Eric Lamaze. RIO and Eric were part of Team Canada when they won the Nations Cup in New York and Toronto in 1995. In early 2001, competing on the West Coast with Jenni Martin, RIO won a $50,000 Grand Prix at Hits Tahoe and placed in many others. RIO GRANDE's sire is RAPHAEL, who has produced several international show jumpers such as RADIATOR, winner of the 2000 Spruce Meadows DuMaurier, or ROSINA, E. Lamaze's current top jumpers. RAMIRO Z, RIO's grandsire, is often called "stallion of the century" and has produced such famous horses as RATINA Z, double Olympic Gold Medal winner (1992 and 1996) and 1993 World Cup winner. |
