Veterinary Consultation and Pre-Purchase Examinations
Every horse offered at the Fall Classic Breeders' Sale has successfully completed an insurance equivalent physical examination, including musculoskeletal, eye, respiratory, and heart. In addition, each horse has been presented to the Inspection Committee in hand, and has been evaluated for health, basic soundness, and turnout. The documented results of these examinations are on file in the sale office and available for viewing.
Consigned horses have NOT completed a full pre-purchase exam.
Prospective buyers are welcome to have the veterinarian of their choice perform a pre-purchase examination on horses of interest.
The sale veterinarian will be available Saturday and Sunday for consultation and pre-purchase examinations of sale horses. Any services provided by the sale veterinarian are at the expense of the prospective buyer.
Pre-purchase examinations should be arranged and discussed with the consignor.
Consignors have provided x-rays for all horses age 3 and over. For all other horses x-rays are optional. X-rays are on file in the office, and may be viewed by prospective buyers accompanied by a certified veterinarian. The sale veterinarian will be available on Saturday and Sunday for consultation.
