Sire:  The performance pedigree of CARTHAGO SUN I combines the proven lines of CAPITOL, COR DE LA BRYERE, and LANDGRAF I.  CARTHAGO Z has been internationally successful under Jos Lansink of Holland.  DAVOS is a granddaughter of the legendary LANDGRAF I and JULIO MARINER, a legend in English Thoroughbred racing.  CARTHAGO SUN I was Champion of the first CWHBA Stallion Performance Test in 2000.  He is sire to CAPRIOLA, 2000 CWHBA Alberta Young Horse Division Champion.

Dam:  HER LAND carries strong, athletic French Thoroughbred lines.  She is a daughter of APALAJA, sire of  numerous winners in hunter, jumper and eventing.  He is a son of the prominent GREY DAWN II, who was voted Champion Two-Year-Old in France 1964.  GREY DAWN II has an impressive record as a sire, producing winning race horses - his progeny won 1289 races - and sons who carried on his line, such as VIGORS, INSTRUMENT LANDING, DAWN FLIGHT, DUNBEATH, NAVAJO, SWING TILL DAWN, MORNING FROLIC and  INTERDICTO.  HER LAND's dam is by REASONABLY FAIR, a son of TURN-TO who carries the blood of NEARCO.  These Thoroughbred lines are found in the pedigrees of many very successful horses in the hunter, jumper, dressage, and eventing disciplines.

Notes:  CAPALAJA was lightly started as a two-year-old, and has been brought back to work this year at three.  She shows lovely movement and a powerful jump.  She has a sweet temperament and is good with people.  CAPALAJA will have 3 months under saddle by Sale time and will be ready to take you to the show ring.
