Sire: VDL ARCTIC was imported in 2002 from the World-renowned
VDL Stud in Holland. Approved
by the CWHBA in 2003, he has been very successful as a 6 year old in the
Jumper ring in 2003. Partnering
with Jim Ifko, this young stallion is successful in the Preliminary Jumper
classes at Spruce Meadows, Thunderbird, and Brandon. He had many clear rounds and is consistently finishing in the top.
His sire, INDOCTRO was Champion of his test with 9's in all the
jumping components. He had a very successful jumping career in Europe, and then has
produced a large number of International jumpers and 10 licensed sons. INDOCTRO is a son of CAPITOL I, who is the
leader in sires of International Jumpers.
The Dutch regard his offspring very highly.
Dam: MJ NIKE is a CWHBA mare who earned a first
Premium at her inspection. She
is by FANTAST, half brother to BIG BEN, a two-time World Jumper Champion. FANTAST's own performance highlights include
Junior Champion Sport Horse, Toronto Royal, CISO Low Jumper Champion,
and many Hunter wins. His progeny are carrying on the winning tradition;
ROULETTE, ridden by Ian Miller, winner of the Denmark Grand Prix, 2nd
Grand Prix of Hamburg, and many top 10 finishes in European Section I
classes for career total earnings to date in excess of $900,000;
GAFFER, pre-green hunter 95 Florida circuit; MJ FACSIMILE, Supreme Champion Sport Horse 95, Alberta Horse Improvement
Show and many time Champion Hunter in Ontario; MJ BANGKOK, Champion in Basic Dressage in California;
HOLLYANNA, champion AHHS 2 year old Futurity.
In the years 1999 to 2001, the results of the CWHBA southern Foal
Futurity had 11 FANTAST foals in the top 5 placings.
From Model to Hunter, Dressage, and Grand Prix jumper, FANTAST
has proven himself a sire of note. MJ
NIKE’s dam, WERAGONIA, is a Hannoverian elite mare imported from Germany.
She has WEDEKIND, FERDINAND (considered a Sire of the Century),
and ARGENTAN in her pedigree. All
these sires are modern Hannoverian foundation sires.
