Sire: BAJAZZO is an imported stallion who is Oldenburg Verband and CWHBA approved. BAJAZZO
traces back to the famous Hanoverian stallion GRANDE and the line of GOLFSTROM, Olympic
Dressage medallist, as well as GRANNUS and GRANDEUR, international jumping stars.
BAJAZZO is a tall, athletic horse combining the tremendous gallop and length of stride of his sire
BARSOI with the legendary dressage and jumping talent of the famous GRANDE line. He was
100-day tested in 1983 at Adelheidsdorf, scoring 109.67 points. BAJAZZO was imported to
Canada from Germany where he successfully competed in all 3 disciplines. His offspring reflect his
excellent and bold disposition as well as his athletic abilities. 1999 saw the coming of age of
BAJAZZO’s progeny, with two licensed stallions, co-champion BEAU SOLEIL and BARABAS, as
well as several high selling auction horses.
Dam: APHRIZA, CWHBA registered and inspected, scored 8 for swing and elasticity of gaits and noted
especially for her excellent trot. A consistent producer of foals with good movement, this mare was
sired by ARKANSAS, the sire of conformation and performance champions in Germany and
Canada. ARKANSAS is noted for his elegant topline and excellent rideability and this prepotent sire
passes his type and ability on to his children and grandchildren such as champion Hanoverian stallion
ESCUDO I and II. APHRIZA is now in training and showing successfully as a dressage horse.
Through ARKANSAS and ABRUPT, APRHIZA has ABGLANZ in her pedigree 3 times.
ABGLANZ by TERMIT founded the A-line in the modern Hanoverian breed and is a sire of
International importance. His son ABSATZ, grandsire of ARKANSAS, a stallion of great beauty,
with a lovely head and light free action, also sired Celle stallion ARGENTAN, sir of ARTAMIS,
winner of the ‘84 Show Jumping World Cup in Sweden.
Notes: BARBAROSSA successfuly combines the bloodlines of 2 great Hanoverian sires, ABSATZ and
GRANDE. He is currently 16.0hh. Like his dam, he shows excellent elastic movement and is very
athletic. His good basic gaits and jumping ability make him a high quality candidate for competing in
both disciplines of dressage and jumping. At sale time he will have over 90 days of training under
saddle. A current coggins test makes him ready to travel.
