| Sire: | ABRUPT was one of the earliest Hanoverian stallions to enter Canada. Brought to Canada in 1967 |
by Joe Selinger, ABRUPT produced many competition horses including successful jumpers like
ARABELLE (Junior Jumping Champion at Wonderland in 1984, member of the Gold Medal Young
Riders Team from Quebec in the same year) and TOUCHSDOWN (three time Canadian Three Day
Event Champion and Olympic short list horse, ridden by Bill Ulmer). ABRUPT was a direct son of
the Hanoverian line founding Trakehner stallion, ABGLANZ, whos impact on warmblood breeding
and Hanoverians in particular is immeasurable. ABGLANZ blood can be felt through his sons such as
ABSATZ, through to ARGENTAN and ARAMIS, as well Olympic horse SLIBOWITZ and even to
WELTMEYER and the young prodigy ESCUDO I.
| Dam: | MINDY was of Thoroughbred bloodlines. Unfortunately, these are unknown. |
| Notes: | AVRIL BAY has been a broodmare all her life and has to her credit the 1995 daughter, AJAWAAN, |
who was high point mare (tied) for the 1998 Mare Inspections in all of Canada with a score of 8.17
points. AVRIL BAY has lovely movement and a pleasing attitude which she passes on to her
offspring. She is currently in foal to the Hanoverian stallion FABRIANO who stands at Celle,
Germany. FABRIANO (WENDULAN/AZUR) is a 1987, 16.1HH, Brown stallion who placed first
in the 11 month stallion test in 1990 with an overall score of 133.02. Out 36 stallions he was first in
jumping (132.37 points) and fourth in dressage (128.55 points). His offspring are endowed with his
rhythmical, flowing movement and uncomplicated temperaments. At the 93rd Elite Auction in 1995, a
son from his first crop sold for 350,000DM. To date, FABRIANO has no less than 7 licensed sons
and 41 State Premium daughters and candidates.
