Sire: WODAN is a branded Hannoverian stallion who is approved with five different breeding associations
in Germany. Prior to his export to Canada, WODAN competed successfully at International Grand
Prix level. Among his victories is the outstanding win at the indoor Grand Prix in Vienna under Frank
Sloothaak. WODAN has proven to be an excellent breeding stallion by siring several successful sport
horses including: WEMBLAY, WALHALLA, WALZER, TUSCALUSA, WALLENTINAL and
WODYNA, all having competed at the International Grand Prix level in jumping or dressage.
Dam: PUG’S ESCORT is by a stallion that combines the blood of CORNISH PRINCE, GALLANT
MAN and TUDOR MINSTREL. Michael Matz’s jumper, THE GENERAL, descends from
CORNISH PRINCE (by the influential BOLD RULER); several international eventers and the
jumper, IKE, descend from GALLANT MAN, and the list of sport horses that descend from
TUDOR MINSTREL is extensive. From this mare’s dam’s side we get the influence of BEAU MAX
who is ancestor to the eventer, TIGER ONE; DETERMINE, who is ancestor to several eventers and
jumpers including NATIVE CODE; IMBROS who is ancestor to jumpers including PLAIN JANE;
and WAR GLORY who is ancestor to the dressage champion, KEEN, and the jumpers COUNTRY
MUSIC and SINJON.
Notes: SMOOTH AS SILK is a fancy mare who displays animation and cadence through her 3 gaits.
"SILK" is quiet, sensible and quick to learn. She is a very trustworthy mount who has been ridden
inside and outside of arena as well as on the trail. She was started as a two-year-old and has had
consistent training in Dressage since April. She is a pleasure to ride, as she is smooth gaited and light in
the bridle. Recently, she has been started over fences where she displays quality in form. "SILK" is a
very willing mare with good conformation and has an excellent disposition. She will make a super
performance horse as she has all of the attributes to be a successful competitor. "SILK" competed in
her first horse show this July and placed 2nd out of 26 horses in her 'Junior Horse Under Saddle'
class. She is truly a wonderful mare who sports heart and desire.
